Great Fun, Amazing Progress

Many many things are happening, all at once it seems!

I now have a completely new item, made just today just for sale in my upcoming shop, and those of you who made it here from Deviantart will probably have had a sneaky peek of it. Many new items to follow, at least two per day!

I also have a completely new knitting and crochet book, with stunning patterns and it's just packed with inspiration for new small, cute things to make.

And less important, but fun for me I have made a third version of the title image, now Crafty Mutt has left muddy pawprints all over my nice clean blog page, but he's too cute for me to be mad at him :)

And finally, and most importantly, an announcement that I shall be holding a competition (random prize draw) for the grand opening of my shop, giving away an as of yet mystery cute thing to one lucky winner! Judging by my current progress, I'd estimate this to be sometime within the next few days, so don't forget to look out for the grand opening announcement to have a chance of winning a fabulous prize!

Good Luck!

First Arrivals!

Meet the Lion and the Elephant, a cute little pair and the first product for my shop! However I'm still going to hold off opening until I have at least five items, and will be knitting constantly to make a shop stock full of cute little critters.

Accidentally The Whole Design

So, what was a procrastination doodle has become my brand identity, although I may use a slightly cleaned up image once I've got myself sorted. Task number one complete, and the journey has begun!

Going Out Into The Wild Crafty World

Having just got home from Uni, dragged myself and my seriously hefty amount of luggage all the way home, and baked a few brownies I felt it would be a good time to look at how one goes about setting up an Etsy shop, and a bit on selling to America and other such important facts.
And it would appear I am in no way prepared, will have a million things to do before I can even set up shop and will have to fill out copious amounts of forms every time somebody from outside Europe wants to buy a tiny knitted dragon. I believe a To Do list is in order;
  1. Create a brand name and identity, including matching blog background and banner, and a shop banner
  2. Make at least ten items to list
  3. Figure out shipping costs
  4. Learn how to package and post things
  5. Make some sort of advertising scheme (watch out facebook friends, you're first on the list)
I think once I've got that down I will be prepared to actually create my shop, list my items and knit my fingers off for the next few months. That first one is really daunting though...

You know what I'm going to do about it? I'm going to doodle a picture of a puppy to make this post more exciting.

Enjoy!
